WCC HS Chess Team had an unforgettable and intense State Chess Tournament at Little Rock Central High School!
Our High School Chess Team powered through severe weather and even a power outage—competing in two of their three rounds by emergency lights and natural window light—to earn a 3rd place in STATE!
I still need to capture a photo of the team with their trophy, because the other one is in the dark.
This group is dedicated, talented, and has been instrumental in growing our Chess program. This tournament will go down as one we’ll always remember.

WCC buses will be running about 5 minutes late.
In case of a tornado warning the cubhouse will be open to the public. No pets are allowed, the only animals allowed in the building are service animals in a vest.
The cubhouse is only open to the public outside of school hours.

Attention Parents: Due to the threat of severe thunderstorms expected later today, we will dismiss about 15 minutes early according to the following schedule.
Car line begins 3:00
Buses will load at 3:10
Buses will pull out at 3:15
Also, there will be no after school program today.
Attention WCC families- We are monitoring the potential for severe weather in our area on Wednesday, April 2nd. Please be aware that if severe weather conditions occur and warnings are issued in our area, buses will not depart at dismissal, and car riders will not load until conditions improve. In the event of an active tornado threat, faculty will shelter in place with students, and parents/guardians will not be allowed to check out their student until it is safe to do so. Bus delays and any other weather-related updates will be posted immediately on our social media -platforms. Thank you for your support and cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
To make up our lost time due to the snow days, White County Central Schools will be in session on Friday, April 18th.

Congratulations to the High School Quiz Bowl team for placing 3rd in their Regional Tournament on Saturday March 15! Luke Jones also made All Tournament.
They will compete in the 2A State Tournament on Saturday April 12 in Murfreesboro.
